Otto Enoteca and Pizzeria
- Neighborhood: Greenwich Village
- 1 Fifth Ave.
- New York, NY 10003
- 212-995-9559
- Price range: $$$ ($16-$25)
The least expensive (and most casual) of all of Mario Batali's restaurants draws in the crowds nightly—particularly on weekends—with its upscale pizzas and stellar wine list. Be adventerous and skip the plain old pizza margherita and instead try the infamous pizza lardo or the unexpectedly tasty pane frattau. Go ahead, try to resist dessert: The superb gelato comes in tantalizing flavors like olive oil, sweet corn and ricotta.

Nyers love their pizza and this year there seems to be nice places popping up all over the place. Here are some of my favorites.
