Sicilian chef Philip Guardione worked for years in one of Italy's most acclaimed kitchens, the Four Seasons in Milan, under master of modern rustica Sergio Mei. But as they say in Italy, you can take the man out of small-town Sicily, but you can't take small-town Sicily out of the man. Thus Piccola Cucina, a tiny (26 seats) homage to the chef's Mediterranean roots. Given this, seafood is a main attraction, landing as small plates (grilled octopus with potato cream) and in larger courses (swordfish with clams and mussels), while pastas are housemade.
