Warm mahogany paneling, distressed flooring and a long list of handsome rye-based cocktails could only mean one thing: speak easy! From the owners of Chelsea Grill arrives a pre-Prohibition leaning restaurant with an Italian spin. “This seems like an almost forbidden culture in Midtown,” says co-owner Danny Alotta of his PDT-meets-Hell’s Kitchen concept. The cuisine is more American bistro than anything, with grass-fed burgers and Cubanos playing nice with a bibb salad with poached shrimp. The spuntini offerings include Roman-styled Bocatini with pork jowl and risotto balls.
