There are few things the Italians know how to do better than enjoy good food and drink. Leave it up to them to conceive of stuzzichini: small plates like crostini, cured meats, marinated vegetables and grilled seafood that are meant to accompany a late-afternoon glass of wine or a pre-dinner aperitivo. Bar Stuzzichini in the Flatiron District first introduced the pleasures of this enviable concept to New York, and now they've spun off a more intimate sibling in Tribeca. At only 50 seats, Stuzzicheria is about a third the size of the flagship, but the menu of Southern Italian small plates, regional Italian wines, beer and cocktails should create a healthy demand from the after-work crowd. The charming, glass-enclosed corner spot-—right in the heart of the neighborhood—is ideal for sipping Campari while watching the fashionable Tribeca residents navigate the charming cobblestone streets.
