The math doesn't always add up at this very expensive Italian restaurant in the Meatpacking District, until you note that the original hails from Greenwich, Connecticut—home of hedge fund piggybanks. Though for the same price you'll get a better meal at Babbo (and maybe Del Posto, nearby), the wealthy Northern Italian offerings are still pretty impressive, especially the veal—calloppini stuffed with Serrano ham and ratatoutille, and a mignonette BLT (yup: bacon, leek and tomato) with mozarella. The real expense is the subtle and stunning space, a bi-level dining room with hardwood floors and frosted glass, and a private chef's table cellar lined with nearly 10,000 wine bottles.
