Although it’s smack in the middle of Brooklyn, home to some of the world’s best pizza, Park Slope's a bit light on go-to pie shops. After Pizza by the Park (never high on anyone's list of top slices) shuttered, Mario Francoforte and his family saw a chance to serve Slopers some solid ‘za, opening Villa Rustica in the remodeled space.
The Francofortes ran a small pizzeria in New Jersey, but being a Bay Ridge inhabitant, Mario admitted he "couldn't take the commute anymore.” So they set up shop, brick oven in tow, right off of bustling Fifth Avenue. Now folks out for a stroll can pop in for a slice ($2.25), or stick around for a full pie or entrees. Expect classics pastas like orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage, and intriguing pies like a frutti di mare heaped with seafood. While only time will tell if this spot has the chops to earn comparisons to borough legends like Grimaldi's and Totonno's, we know pizza-starved locals will give it a shot.

The Pizza was disgusting it had no taste also the pasta was extremely oily. The service was bad the Guy at the counter was not very nice
