Vino 313 co-owners Michael Sosankin and Jill Park, a real-estate developer and fashion designer, respectively, opened their candlelit wine bar as an alternative to Murray Hill's plentiful frat-scene venues. "This is needed in Murray Hill," Sosankin says. "There are so many places for college-age kids, but we're for a more sophisticated crowd." Besides a long wine list that spans all of world's regions, the kitchen turns out a full menu of appetizers, entrees and small plates. Keeping with the sophisticated ambitions, expect standard fare with an upscale twist, like sliders with Wisconsin Black River blue cheese, onion and paprika mayo. If you’re not up for a full meal, the range of cheese, antipasti and charcuterie plates offers something to nibble on while sipping your favorite vintage. So if you find yourself in Murray Hill with a hankering for a grown-up experience, this laid-back locale should hit the spot.
