I was at Vino on Wed night with my 3 girlfriends and we loved it!!!! We were expecting to just go for a glass of wine before dinner at Sushi Samba but all of the food going out to the tables looked amazing so we decided to stay put. We each had something different and shared and it was all amazing. Saying Vino is a wine bar does not do the food justice.
As for the wine, they have a fabulos list by the glass and bottle. We started out each ordering a glass but our server recommended a bottle which complemented all of our food. Our server was wonderfull.
Michael is the owner who came by our table a few times to make sure we were having a good time. You can tell that he is a genuinely nice man. He was joking with the bus-boy which you never see. It seems like he hired everyone with similar personality traits as himself.
Vino is a great addition to Murray Hill.

This restaurant is a true gem.
Walking in, you are greeted by one of the owners, Michael, who is super sweet and extremely friendly. He is always ready to answer any questions about the restaurant, which opened about 6 weeks ago. He introduced my friend and I to one of the other owners, Jill, who was less friendly and less knowledgeable about pretty much everything, including the wine and food. In fact, her frank unfriendliness made us all a little uncomfortable. Once the food came, however, Nothing Else Mattered.
We started with the Talleggio Fondue. The fondue itself, infused with thyme and sage, was creamy, smooth and just plain delicious. It arrived in a cute little brown pot with perfectly sized bread dipping vessels. Then my friend ordered the Risotto, with buttered leeks and parm, and I got the Tagliatelle with a ragout of braised oxtail and baby chard. The pasta is made fresh, which is very noticeable in its texture-not chewy or rubbery-cooked al dente (as it should be). The oxtail was soft and with the baby chard it was a perfect marriage. My friends Risotto was also nicely cooked, which was a relief considering the many times I've had risotto on a night out, it has been mushy. Not the case at Vino 313. Also, the risotto was allowed to shine, the flavors were clean and simple. We had wines by the glass instead of ordering a bottle not for any particular reason. Although, I think I regret that because the wine list was quite nice. However, the wines by the glass were pretty nice as well. I had the Cabernet Franc, a musty pungent wine; my friend had the Rioja, both reasonably priced. For dessert we both ordered the chocolate mousse with shortbread crumble. One word-decedent! Forget diamonds, this is a girls true best friend.
The portions were appropriate. You leave feeling fulfilled but not stuffed to the point of nausea. Overall, happy and warm.
Our waitress, Makayla ( I know I am spelling that wrong, I'm sorry!) was super sweet and genuine and showed an obvious respect and love for the food she was serving us. It was busy, and according to our waitress and Michael (the owner) it has been busy almost every night. Hopefully it stays this way, because I plan to be back to taste some more of the chef's (Michael Vassallo is his name, it says so on the menu) delicious creations. I mostly look forward to trying the Trio of House Made Sausages, the Flat Iron Steak and the selection of cheeses and charcuterie, and maybe next time a nice bottle of wine.
I look forward to going back to Vino313 and trying something new and enjoying the friendly staff (with the one previously mentioned exception). I highly recommend a visit, and soon!
My compliments to the chef.

My boyfriend and I have been awaiting the grand opening of Vino for quite some time...we were thrilled that Murray Hill was finally opening a wine bar! We had a chance to try it tonight. The place was reasonably crowded and the menu looked delicious. I had a bad feeling the moment I walked through the door. Vino truly looked like a restaurant that was designed to look like a NYC restaurant. The servers were very bubbly and friendly, but lacked any knowledge about the wines or the food on the menu. Wine menu was extensive but there were very few options for bottles of wine under $50. For dinner, we chose to start with the charcuterie platter, priced at $14. I ordered the risotto ($14) and my boyfriend ordered the steak ($21). We go out often and are always looking for delicious new places for dinner. These prices seemed very reasonable...until we received the food. I almost laughed out loud when we received the meat and cheese platter. There was a single piece of proscuitto, and two small pieces of cheese, each about 1 inch wide and 2 inches long. My risotto was delicious, however, the serving size was about the size of a baseball and the 21 dollar steak was slightly larger than a deck of cards. I will say that the food was good, but not for the price. Our check came out to a little under $100 (and this did not include a bottle of wine, we only had 2 glasses). We left hungry and ordered takeout from Ethos, a delicious Greek restaurant on 34th and 3rd down the street! If the owners of Vino are reading this, please don't be upset! This is just some constructive criticism. I really really want your wine bar to be successful! My advice is to either lower your prices and charge "small plate" prices for your appetizer size entrees or to offer a bit more for the price. If you don't want to leave Murray Hill and would like a cozier restaurant, I'd recommend Vino. However, my suggestion would be to take a short taxi ride down to the east village and try out one of the many delicious, authentic wine bars it has to offer.
