As if the East Village wasn’t already swimming in ramen joints, Shigeto Kamada (Minca) brings this latest outpost to the far east reaches of 14th Street. Though the same design firm that fashioned the funky interior of Ippudo also had a hand in the minimalist, blonde-wood décor here, expect a simple ramen-heavy menu that’s more aligned with its sister noodle bar. Choose the noodle shape (thick, thin, wavy) and base (wheat, whole wheat, bean) before selecting a broth of pork, chicken, a combo of both, or vegetable for a hefty bowl starting at $9.50. Special ramen, such as the spicy Kimchi Miso, will run you closer to $14.50. As always, the best seat in the house is at the long wooden bar facing the open kitchen where you can watch the chef in action for dinner and a show.
