In 2006, rent hikes famously forced 2nd Ave Deli to shutter its iconic East Village shop, which reopened two years later…on Third Avenue in Murray Hill. Now, they've spun off a second location on the Upper East Side…on First Avenue. (You overshot it, guys! Almost!) The new location's menu is identical to its sibling's, with the same familiar kosher Jewish specialties: kreplach, pastrami sandwiches (their best-seller) and the “Instant Heart Attack”—a sandwich made of two latkes and a choice of corned beef, pastrami, turkey or salami.
