Actually more like Hecho en Bowery: The former Dumbo-based Mex joint has finally relocated to its new Bowery location. To keep things familiar, the owners have decided to hold on to the original name—and to their old prices! Says co-owner Danny Mena, "We didn’t want people to say, 'When they were in Brooklyn they were awesome, and then when moved to Manhattan they sold out.'" In fact, they've gone all-out: The menu is bigger now since the new space has a grill, allowing for additions like grilled shrimp a la Diabla (in chili sauce).Old faves—gourmet tacos, savory sopes (yellow corn pancakes)—are still there. They've also expanded their seafood offerings, with oysters on the half shell and smoked swordfish. Cracks Mena, "After two-and-a-half years at the old [kitchen]"—which was limiting—"this is like a Cadillac of a kitchen!"
