At this Thai-themed outpost of Jean-Georges Vongerichten's restaurant empire, the dining room is an orientalist's fantasy of red lacquer, gold leaf, and shimmering silks all presided over by a Buddha altar. The food is like all of Vongerichten's food: imaginative, subtly spiced, and beautifully presented. The results are an amalgam of French technique and Asian spicing, and although some complain that portions are small, the restaurant's longstanding success is testimony to the quality of the food and the high level of service.
