Locals can be forgiven for not knowing what to call Caramaya. Maybe it is the surf board painted with "Hurricane Hopeful" or the Surf Bar sign out front. Either way, it is the only place off the L train where you can munch on a lobster roll or bowl of chowder while sinking your toes in the sand inside. Don't miss the outdoor garden that seems more like your hippie neighbor's backyard than a restaurant patio.
