this is just such a lame article, i mean this is just really poorly written, a bad story idea and not even good choices for the list. the fact that most of the restauranteurs didn't even bother to call back shows metromix's relevance. the sad thing is, metromix is the nymag of chicago, people actually read it for restaurant and bar info, but here in new york, it's just pathetic. i come back to this site one every few months to see if it's improved and it just keeps disappointing.

Garner i am with you. Especially since the phone call i received never mentioned that we were the butt of this sweet blogger joke piece. I have a nickname, I used it and I love it. Love us or leave us flex mussels and joedoe have meaning.....let's put metromix on the table for debate over questionable names for a self righteous blog. Let me be the first to respond. My name is Garner Quain, and for what its worth, my wife Megan and I invented Flex Mussels. We named it in a small ceremony in our backyard in Toronto some four and a half years ago. I don't think there's a food writer alive that hasn't used " chef X flexes his/her mussels " sometime, somewhere. It seemed to us that a restaurant serving 23 different flavours of mussels (yeah, I said 23) ought to capitalize on the pun. More to the point, what else would you call it?
