Commanding the corner of Second Avenue and Fourth Street like nobody's business, the very European Belcourt is quickly becoming an East Village go-to for brunch, lunch and dinner. The food arriving from chef Matt Hamilton’s kitchen (no relation to Gabrielle of Prune, his former boss) has a perspective that goes well beyond the French vibe that permeates the room—the earthy Mediterranean menu offers unusual breakfast snacks like lebne with fruit, bacalao hash and boudin blanc.
