Bailout: Café Cluny

With a gossipy connection to Pastis (Cluny owner Lynn Wagenknecht was once married to Pastis’ Keith McNally; together, they opened The Odeon), Cluny acts as a kind of clubhouse for those of the downtown set who couldn’t care less about the Waverly Inn. The restaurant’s two rooms are cozy and inviting, even while a rather large sculpture of a fly hangs on the wall. Brunch includes a breakfast BLT, the requisite burger and house-cured gravlax.
