Pichet Ong was one of the first of his pastry-chef brethren to make the sweet-savory dessert-meal leap when he opened his own culinary hot house in the West Village, P*ong, which will celebrate its first anniversary this spring.
We tagged along with the Jean-Georges vet as he ping-pong’d from P*ong to home—plus a quick visit from mom (she needed cooking oil) and a quick lunch with buddy and fellow chef Iacopo Falai (a tip: never offer him cheese on his tuna sandwich. Never.).
