BK unveils its own restaurant week from March 24 to 31
It's official: From March 24 to 31, Brooklyn is 34 percent better than Manhattan. Dine In Brooklyn, the borough's annual restaurant week, offers a three-course meal at over 180 Brooklyn restaurants for $23 (in Manhattan, the winter promotion set diners back $35 for dinner—do the math). The range of cuisines available is staggering, and like the diversity of the borough itself, every corner of the globe is represented. Only in Brooklyn can a quick trip on the G (quick? er...) deliver you to South Africa, Japan, France, Thailand, Mexico, Italy, Jamaica and beyond.
To aid you in your Brooklyn eating adventures, we've chosen eight restaurants (including Alma, pictured at left) that represent the best and breadth of the borough, with recommendations of a signature dish at each spot. Bust out your Brooklyn map and get going—there’s the whole world to cover, and you might have to wait for the train. — Jane Lerner
