Tuesday: Trash Bar

Music venue, dive bar, truck stop—call it what you will, but Trash Bar is one of the best destinations in NYC for cheapskates and winos. Free tater tots with any drink order is the reason we’re going. Although you’re required to buy a drink to partake in the tots, this shrine to PBR offers nightly specials including an open bar from 8 to 9 p.m. (PBR and well drinks).

The deals flow as freely as the kitsch around here, with two-for-one happy-hour specials from 5 to 8 p.m. including draft beers, PBRs and well drinks. Let’s face it: Ever since that infamous scene in “Napoleon Dynamite,” tater tots are the bar snack du jour of the broke-slash-trendy.
