Wednesday: The Smith

Hump day can bring about a hankering for homey and delicious grub. Newcomer The Smith is happy to oblige. It’s already a neighborhood hit because of its gourmet comfort food, but if you saddle up to the 20-foot zinc bar you can also enjoy their crispy garlic corn, gratis.

Eat enough of it and you’ll be too full for much else, but there’s also a full menu of little snacks, including tomato soup melt, tuna tartare, crispy calamari and braised bacon. If you’re not feeling like such a cheapo, on Sunday nights you can get a burger and a beer for $12.
