The Korean Fried Chicken Wars have heated up with the opening of Kyochon’s flagship in the heart of Koreatown. (The Seoul-based chain already operates locations in Bayside and Flushing, but entering Manhattan takes things to another level. Are you listening Bon Chon?). The signature wings and drums are double fried, which works crisping magic on the bird's skin—the fat is rendered down to a paper-like shell, while the meat inside remains moist). Sauce is available: Hot (fire, really) and Sweet Honey. Sides as well (potato wedges, slaw). But go for the chicken, stay for a soju cocktail (there is second-floor lounge that promises a scene). And then reload with more chicken on your way out.
