A Dick Cheney dive, in the truest hunting, drinking, taxidermy and sneering-at-liberal-elitists sense of the word. This gritty bar, out in the subway-less boondocks of Brooklyn's Red Hook southwest of Carroll Gardens, used to actually be a bait and tackle shop, and the new owners have done all the local artists a great service by keeping its zoology intact: antlers, a stuffed bear, boar's head, fish, a bearded regular passed out over a line of tequilas. Outfitted with a screw-you CBGB's irreverency, the place features thematically unrelated rec activities like quiz nights, air hockey, live music and Bloody Mary Sundays. And if the fangs don't scare you, the bartenders sure will: in 2007 they foiled a robbery attempt.
