The full Brighton Beach Russian experience, complete with bombast and kitsch and all things salty, fried, vodka-infused—all to the beat of live European dance music. Everything worth looking at in the Russian/Georgian eatery is on the table—there aren't really any windows, and the bland decor certainly is not Russian Tea Room. Even if you're not with a big birthday group, skip the a la carte selections and order (in Russian, if you can, or by pointing) a banquet menu: Expect eggplant, pickled veggies, herring, caviar, kupaty (Georgian sausage), shish platter and more. The place has a dated feel, and late nights get clubby and young, but the weighted history of nearly three decades of fine cuisine make it special.
