Buddha House
- Neighborhood: Greenwich Village
- 65 Carmine St.
- New York, NY 10014
- 212-229-2888
- Price range: $$ ($9-$15)
Unlike the trendy Buddha Bar, Buddha House offers little atmosphere, uninventive cuisine and kitschy decor. But it sure is cheap--for only $5.25 you can get a heaping plate of run-of-the-mill Chinese food at lunchtime, while dinner patrons can choose from more than 15 different styles of Cantonese soups or create their own dishes. The food isn't going to blow anyone away. But for $8 an entre, who's complaining?
