City Crab
Smack in the heart of the Flatiron restaurant district, this brash seafood palace turns out big portions of well-prepared fish in a stylish bi-level dining room filled with a prosperous-looking crowd.
The menu covers all the usual ground, with all manner of fish baked, roasted, grilled or fried, but the house's real specialty - as the name implies - is crab: Crab soup, crabcakes, crab legs, and stone-crab claws. There's a good selection of oysters, salads are generous aand handsomely presented, and traditional sides are competently prepared. The bar scene is frenetic, and during peak times, service can be harried. Noise can also be a problem.
