- Cuisine:
Marc Murphy's popular Village seafood spot, Ditch Plains, is responsible for many a craving, including his delectable lobster rolls—slicked with an aioli of mayo, roasted garlic and Dijon—as well as the Ditch Dog, a pre–"This is Why You’re Fat"–era treat covered in mac and cheese. Now, these amazing feats will be available uptown when Murphy brings beachy dining and pasta-topped wieners to 82nd Street, moving into the old Bar Bao space. “Ditch Plains Upper West Side will be a larger version of the downtown spot, but will feature a few more surfer elements like surfboards in the doorway," Murphy tells us. The menu will also hew closely to its downtown brethren, with the addition of uptown-only items like a spicy calamari salad laced with strong Asian accents like Sriracha sauce and toasted sesame seeds. With any luck, it'll be the latest addition to Ditch Plains' crave-worthy lineup.
