The executive chef at the popular UES restaurant Mr. Chow's, Philippe Chow, left after 26 years to start his own place named after himself (he had to use the first because the last was already taken). Both places are similar in respect to the menu, not surprisingly, but the places are decidedly different in decor. The dining area is small, as is the bar, and looks like a ship turned upsidedown. It is also not what you would call warm, with muted colors and white tableclothes with an upstairs area that sticks out due to the enormous flower arrangement. Also be warned, this place is really expensive: $65 for the the Peking duck.
