Steamers Landing

New Jersey never looked as good as it does when you're staring at it, backlit from the setting sun, from the terrace of this respectable seafood restaurant near Battery Park and the former World Trade Center site. The views, which also include the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty, are obviously the main reason to dine here, and the place plays it up with lots of windows, pictures of ships and the blue-and-light wood nautical decor. Seafood is a given (though hopefully not caught from the river nearby) -- with pistachio crusted tilapia, crab cakes and a signature seafood stew—but there is also pizzas, burgers and martinis that come with your own shaker.
