In July 2008, fans of the saucy Park Slope Bar BQ were shocked when they found the door locked, the phone number disconnected and a new message on its Web site stating they had "closed up the smokers.” Good news: The room has been reborn as Safe Haven, which features a corrugated tin façade and, once its kitchen is open, will be serving up Southern comfort food and bar bites like catfish fingers. For now, expect a local crowd enjoying drafts and bottled beer, including Brooklyn-brewed Six Point Craft Ales, Belgian IPA and Apollo Wheat.
