As runoff of the Heartland Brewery, this Texas barbeque mill is well-equipped with Cornhusker Lager to chase all the hot, spiced, flamed and fried Southern goodness that emerges from the large smokers. A stalwart of the scene before the big "gourmet" BBQ boom in the last years, the kitchen here fires up waist-expanding portions of blackened catfish, pulled pork, brisket and slathery St. Loius style ribs (the "Royal Flush" is a ranch-sized platter that includes mostly all of the aforementioned, plus Texas links, half a chicken, corn muffins and three sides). Fenced in within the Theater District, the decor is as subtle as a Broadway musical, with pink-piggy pictures, red-and-white tablecloths and jugs of hot sauce taunting you from the walls.
