The concept of free appetizers generally has a way of drawing a certain kind of crowd, but this long-standing, cumbersome-named, old-school Spanish restaurant has for the most part managed to avoid the flim-fam of the foodie crowd. Grab an alcove table and dive right into the tapas starters of fried calamari, spare ribs and jambon Serrano, but don't fill up because the paella (served in a large cast iron pot) is pretty good, as is the veal Sevillina. The place is often filled with groups of young people sucking in fruity sangria intravenously, along with a couple of tequila-taking old-timers eyeing them warily.
