The least enjoyable part of a meal—paying the bill—often ends on a forgettable note. Receipts on plastic trays and stale after-dinner mints aren’t exactly encouraging anyone to reach for their wallets. If you’re lucky, you’ll be sent off with a postcard advertising brunch or an upcoming holiday menu.
