Dine By Design: Rockography
In our new "Dine By Design" series, we look at all the design ingredients that go into cooking up an eye-popping restaurant.
Like the intro to “We Will Rock You,” Village newcomer Rockography (504 Sixth Ave. at 13th St., 646-360-4143) opens today with a thump-thump-bang!, hawking the tagline “Eat. Drink. Jam.” True to its mission, this rock-themed joint is packed with enough groovy décor and detailing to make you wanna break out the Fender.
Walls are plastered with vintage posters (Hendrix, Cash), multiple TV's show vintage videos (think Van Halen), and the bar is made out of customized Marhshall amplifiers. Aaaaoooowww!
“We tried to make it look like every high school kid’s dream come true,” explains co-owner Kelley Jones. It’s a job well done. Between the stage-style lighting and skull-shaped glowstick holders, there's a lot going on. Here are our liner notes from an exclusive tour. SEE FULL GALLERY
