Brown Betty Restaurant
Onward I march, swinging into the Brown Betty Restaurant (129-06 Liberty Ave., 718-323-6438). Mirrors and verdant foliage fill the red-hued restaurant, which is chockablock with cheap Guyanese specialties: I’m torn between the fish stick laden with salt cod and the aloo ball ($.75!), finally opting for the latter.
“It’s one of our specialties,” says the gent at the counter.
