Marc Forgione joined A Voce, Tia Pol, Painkiller and Vandaag at NYC's blowout tasting event
Center 548 hosted the 23rd Taste of the Nation, an annual event flashing the culinary chops of NYC chefs and mixologists while supporting the fight against childhood hunger. (Share our Strength's Web site offers more details, and an auction. Great cause!)
Over 100 restaurants and bars set up tables slinking through three floors of the Chelsea events space. Catching our eye in particular? A beautifully plump bite of Spanish mackerel and lemony artichoke puree served by Union Square Café chef Carmen Quagliata. Danny Meyer's kitchen staff was also on point at the Untitled table where a decadent pot pie bite was paired really well with a pickled-leaning-bitter pepper slice. Buttermilk Channel chef Ryan Angulo shined with a thick slice of mustard-glazed bacon and ramp potato salad.
