The Brooklyn Booze Experiment | The Bell House
You may remember them from the Brooklyn Taco Experiment, Brunch Experiment and Chocolate Experiment. But this past Sunday at The Bell House, cookoff kings Theo Peck and Nick Suarez presented a battle that simultaneously tickled our tongues while testing our livers. At the Booze Experiment, chefs both amateur and pro took their most alcohol-infused eats to the judges, who included New York Distillery's Tom Potter, Time Out's Jordana Rothman and Mile End's Noah Bernamoff.
Fans braved crummy rain-soaked weather to show up en masse. And boy was it a mob scene: The place was jam-packed, and organizers made more than one announcement addressing how crowded the event was, and asking folks to be patient. (We even noticed a few verbal scuffles among peeps anxious for a bite of their booze. Me want alcohol!) It was all smiles once folks got ahold of their bites, and all told, the night's 21 chefs cleaned up good. The judges awarded the top prize to Roopa Marcello, who served Italian donuts inflused with ingredients from an Old Fashioned cocktails, while the Audience Award went to the folks behind Mossberger & Fries for their bourbon-braised short rib. Bottoms up while chowing down! SEE FULL GALLERY
