Overlooking the main concourse at Grand Central is not a bad place to be. The architecture is exhilarating and the bustle of the crowd below lends a certain glamour to the place even if most travelers aren't going any farther than Scarsdale. In the restaurant itself, the atmosphere is masculine-clubby: lots of brass, dark wood, and leather upholstery.

There's a good bar, with a collection of single malts, micro-brews, and a nice selection of wines poured by the glass. The bar menu includes one of the city's best hamburgers even if its price tag takes it up into the stratosphere.

In the dining room, it's all about the beef. Steaks are dry-aged, they arrive at the table precisely the way you ask for them. Sides are typical steakhouse offerings: hash browns are good, the onions are amazing, and the mac-and-cheese follows a favorite recipe from the owner himself.
