Despite the herds of imitators that have recently stampeded the city, flaunting Wagyu swag, chic Elle Decor decor and former-waiter turncoats lugging Luger's secret sauce, this classic Brooklyn steakhouse remains the best in New York. Why? Straight up, it's the porterhouse. USDA prime cuts, chosen from Midwest cattle, marbled to pink perfection, dry-aged in their secret in-house lair and cooked with an ideal tenderness-charred ratio. There's other juicy stuff, like the burgers, bacon plates and bright beer hall space whose bowtied staff are as pleasant as a curmudgeon in a loin cloth, but it all comes back to the meat.
