Wolfgang's is one of several Luger clones that have opened -- this one is in Murray Hill, in the spot that used to be Vanderbilt Station. At lunchtime, it's busy with a suited-up (mostly male) clientele. Like its competitor across the water, the main event is steak—although there is a fish selection, including steamed lobster, and there are also lamb chops. Side orders hew to the steakhouse traditions: simple salads, seafood cocktails, spinach, potatoes: mashed, baked or fried. The place retains the original vaulted ceilings inlaid with intricate tiles, which doesn't do much for the decibel level, which can be close to unbearable when the place is crowded. The bar upfront gets busy; after work, it's jammed.
