Prohibition defies logic as an Upper West Side bar that is at once somewhat chic, fun and alluring, while lacking the pretention that should kill the atmosphere of such a place. It somehow manages to qualify as a cool place without being the least bit annoying or hipster. Live music is performed nightly -- anything from jazz to rock to blues -- and it is an ideal spot to get a little boozey and starry-eyed with a date over a couple of martinis, or to blow it out with friends and meet some new ones.
