The Barrel Room
This 30-seat restaurant is located between the fermentation take room and a private event space at the innovative venue City Winery, assuring you that the vino that accompanies your dinner was made on site. The winery is Manhattan's first fully functioning vintner, and all of the dishes in this stand-alone restaurant will pair well with the house labels. These come from specially designed taps and are poured straight from the barrels where they were prepared by the staff winemaker. If you'd rather opt for something else, there is plenty to choose from, the restaurant offers a list of over 400 selections from around the world. The menu will be different from what's served at the rest of the winery, but will still be prepared by the institution's chef Andres Barrera, who will put on a show for diners in an open kitchen. Expect Mediterranean-influenced, wine-friendly plates like cheese plates from Murray’s, spreads like hummus and tzatziki or heartier options like a rack of lamb served with caponata.
