Blink and you'll miss this worthy competitor in the New York City Cupcake Wars: Cupcake Cafe sits perched just south of the Port Authority bus fumes. Thankfully, then, there's no outdoor seating, but connoisseurs of these miniature sweets will appreciate the bakery's butter cream frosting, whipped into exquisite floral designs. It's not as sugary sweet as Billy's or Buttercup, but it doesn't need to be. The cappuccinos are also a highlight, and the out-of-the-way location makes for a quiet place to bring a friend for an afternoon chat.
