Classic American fare and stiff drinks are the lure at this hearty and well-heeled Financial District staple. Steak-lovers come for the dry-aged boneless rib steak and the 8-ounce filet mignon, but marginally more dainty eaters will be pleased with the surprisingly creative (for an old-boys steak joint) hoisen-glazed salmon, soba noodles, shitake mushrooms and snap peas, pan-seared grouper with smoked tomato and fennel herb salad, and the kobe hot dog with poppyseed sauerkraut. Or just come to drink your financial woes away with Scotch or the house martini—an unusually appealing mix of Hendrick's gin, a "mist" of dry vermouth and a meyer lemon twist.
