Dutch Boy Burger
This former Franklin Avenue paint shop kept the name but got rid of pretty much everything else. Now, when you ask for a “dutch boy”, you won’t get a can of paint adorned with a blond child whose name is probably Hansel. The new resident Dutch Boy is this burger joint’s signature dish: a juicy option with cheddar, mushrooms and onions. The folks in the area surely like the 7-ounce patties better than a can of Pixley Falls Green, especially after a night at neighboring bar Franklin Park. The two haunts are operated by the same owner, and hungry patrons can access the quaint burger joint through a door in the back of the bar. While the burger storefront closes at 11 p.m., the greasy grub is available all night at the watering hole. Is one of their dishes really the best turkey meatball sandwich, as the menu claims? After a night of drinking, for only $8 it’s pretty darn close.
