This is one "diner" where you'll get farther ordering a mango lassi and a somosa than a donut and a cup of coffee. Why it's called a diner, we're not entirely certain, as since it's opening in 1980, this Queens favorite has been a culinary hub for classic north Indian fare with south Indian influences. Over the years, innovative menu items have been added such as crab samosas, baby lamb chops and achari mushrooms. Jackson Diner also has a full service bar where Indian beer like  Kingfisher and Taj Mahal is always on tap, as are fruity lassis and, strangely intriguing choclate margaritas. The decor is minimal, with punchy-colored suspended lights and frames adding a bit of a kick.
