Every five seconds, a new street-style blog is born. OK, that’s not exactly true, but they've definitely got an online presence, enabling cubicle dwellers to see what’s cool on the streets of Stockholm and at the loft parties of New York. If you’re nodding right now, chances are you’ve bookmarked Yvan Rodic’s Face Hunter, aka “eye candy for the style hungry.” We caught up with this Parisian during New York Fashion Week to chat about how New Yorkers dress, reality television and why he loves style with a twist.

I’ve heard that you just use a digital point-and-shoot when you go out.
Yes. I like it because I have it with me 24 hours a day. It’s more compact. It’s like a blog, it’s everyday.

What are your influences when you are out shooting?
All the Japanese magazineslike Fruitare influences. And all the Dutch photography. It’s very spontaneous.

How would you describe your own style of dressing?
Classic with a twist. Kinda like Swedish style—clean-cut with a few funny details.

How would you compare New York street style with the rest of the world?

There’s lots of inspiration here, but it’s not that experimental or avant-garde like London or Scandinavia. The kids are not that adventurous.

Do you think street-style blogs influence the way people dress?
Yeah, I think so, at least by the feedback I get everyday. People are more and more inspired by real people, like reality television. I still like looking at editorials with models, but it’s so far from real life. This is something you can check out for free, and it’s so simple and you can get your daily fix.

What are you looking forward to at New York Fashion Week?
I want to see some fresh American designers.

What’s next for The Face Hunter?
London, Paris, Fashion Week, Fashion Week.
