Reason: This well-lit, well-edited, cozy little shop features a sophisticated selection of highly wearable women's and men's apparel by indie labels from Christopher Deane to Tracy Reese, as well as Epaulet's own line of menswear and accessories like Pade Vavra's compliment-magnet jewelry. Husband-and-wife proprietors Adele Berne and Mike Kuhle, both former buyers, are hospitable hosts and not only embrace the "Hello, neighbor!" spirit of the neighborhood but also carry eco-friendly goods and go out of their way to work with vendors who embrace fair-labor practices.
