Designers gave us a peek at their Fashion Week sketchbook

Though it isn’t even officially fall, top designers have been busy, busy, busy creating the looks for spring ’09 that will hit the Fashion Week runways in Bryant Park beginning Friday. We thought it would be a treat for readers to get a preview, so we asked a talented bunch of designers to provide us with sketches from their spring collections and to share just what it was that inspired them. Those ideas and influences are plucked from everywhere for spring—nature, past decades, fashion icons, world travel, history, art and architecture.
