Palace of the End
Judith Thompson's “Palace of the End” (coming from Toronto and running at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at Playwrights Horizons) beat out some tough competition to garner the estimable Susan Smith Blackburn Prize (awarded to the best play by a woman). This hard-hitting play delves into the minds of Pvt. Lynndie England (the fall gal for the torture at Abu Ghraib) and two other players in the political drama that we call the War in Iraq.
