Like a delicious sandwich of Thanksgiving leftovers, here's all the TV gossip you may have missed over the long weekend.

5. Oprah Backs Scripted Series
Oprah has gone off the deep end. After announcing the imminent end to her long-running daytime talk show—Fall 2011 is still a while away, folks—the wholesome svengali isn't just starting her own cable network, she's jumping in bed with a particularly saucy one as well. Oprah's Harpo Films is set to produce a new series by "Secretary" scribe Erin Cressida Wilson for HBO. The hour-long drama will follow an emo housewife who leaves the trappings of her suburban life for a single life of sexual indulgence in Los Angeles. Cameo please!

4. Big Changes In Store for January "Big Love" Premiere
When the fourth season of HBO's "Big Love" premieres on January 10, there's a lot of changes in store for the series. Executive producer Marc V. Olsen recently revealed in an interview that the new crop of episodes will see patriarch Bill running for Utah state senate—as an open polygamist. We're not sure how that is exactly legal, but we are sure that Bill's three wives will have quite different reactions to his decision. Olsen also mentioned that the wives will be divided on the political bid and that divide will cause some major friction.

3. "Glee" Takes Long Winter Break

The networks often make decisions that leave us scratching our heads, but this one seems particularly bizarre. Freshman hit "Glee" will be going on a four-month hiatus to accommodate Fox's winter schedule—which most notably includes "American Idol." This means that following the December 9 fall finale, the musical high school dramedy will be off the airwaves until April 13.

2. First Run of "V" Fairs OK

After premiering to bonkers good ratings, ABC's reboot of "V" took dramatic slips each week until the fourth and final of its original run aired just before Thanksgiving. "V" settled in at a solid 9.2 million viewers, apparently making it enough of a success for ABC to commit to a second batch of episodes in 2010. The network announced the series would return in March, following the annoying programming shuffle caused by the Winter Olympics.

1. Two ABC Newbies Shut Down Production
It's a good thing that all is well over at "V," because the same can't be said for other freshman ABC series. Both "FlashForward" and "Cougar Town" shut down production last week, and though the latter will resume this week—Courtney Cox had to attend to an undisclosed family matter—"FlashForward" might be dead in the water. ABC wants to give producers and writers a chance to creatively recharge, which translates to "save it while they still can."
